Suction paint cup liners

Does anyone know where I can buy 1 litre paint cup liners?

I have a suction cup spray gun and although it's Teflon coated being able to just remove the liner and throw it away instead if cleaning appeals to me. The trouble is I can only seem to find them on USA sites not UK.

Or does no one stock them because all you need are plain plastic bags of some sort and any pro painter already knows this?

I have never seen suction gun liner systems anywhere, even on US sites. I have seen the DeKups and the almost identical PPG system for gravity guns which look brilliant for anyone doing full time and lots of colour changes.

I had soime of these a few years ago, waste of tme in my opinion, how long does it take to clean a pot out !!!

Maybe I'm missing something but when you're doing multiple coats with an hour inbetween it seems like 5 minutes of spraying then 10 of cleaning.

noooooo the paint washes out of the gun easily i usually take the gun off the cup and suck up thinner and let it run out a few times after the initial clean

buy 5 gallons of gunwash and dunk the gun in. it tales no time at all to clean a gun

Are the cups all a standard size and lug spacing? I could use a second cup full of thinner, push it through so the needle doesn't get stuck on dry paint, then swap it back.

I do have a load of thinners, just seems a waste to fill a whole bucket just to rinse out the gun.

no cups are specific to model of gun usually, you may find some the same but they will probably be the cheaper brands but you never know
the cups with 2 lugs are always 180 degrees but it will be the diameter and depth

The only cups I've seen are reducing ones, got some of these. For suction guns, to save paint when you need a small bit.
The chuckaway systems look appealing but they're pricy, OK for shops where throughput=cash.

A mate has a widget he calls a "turbo" which is specific to JGAs, Basically a venturi thing you pop over the gun that does a partial back-flush. Not a full clean, but speeds it up. Haven't found one for sale anywhere yet.

Got to properly clean anyway with metallics/pearls etc, unless you have separate guns maybe. Otherwise one little particle will glare brightly when it sits in your next straight dark colour. I always strip & clean, doesn't take long. Use stainless dishes, doesn't waste a lot. Most thinners (not met/pearl) gets poured through funnel & strainer into a can of 'seconds', to be used for first swills before using new thinners.

I don't get the multiple coats with an hour in between mate, what paint you using ???

Haven't got the name to hand but it's black gloss for railings. You think I should be recoating sooner?

But only for use with Devilbliss guns, not sure if they would fit others, But at £44.76 + Delivery, i would agree, cleaning the pot out afterwards would be cheaper

Those are for a pressure pot, would have to be a hard liner, a placcy bag would just block the suction tube.
Maybe there are disposable hard liners out there. There are chuckaway 'pots' for grav guns that look tempting, but they do cost.

The railing paint looks to be a synthetic enamel. Don't have to wait an hour between coats, wait till it's flashed and gone a bit tacky, like normal.

Ehm, I think I meant pressure pot not suction. Sorry about that.

It's because it needs a sealed pot that I cant just dunk the feed tube in an open cup of thinners and let it suck through to stop the paint drying on the needle. Hence the need to empty the pot, clean it, fill with thinners and spray in between coats.

I've emailed Earlex to see if theres any way to get a second pot - in between painting I could put a lid on the remaining paint and use a second pot with clean thinners and do a quick spray to clean the internals.

Why can't you just make one from any type of sealable container you have to hand with the appropriate fitting and a tube running through the top/lid to the bottom of the container?

Now we have the full story Hold the feed tube higher than the gun and run some thinners through it, use a funnel or something.
