Suitable Compressor

After some help with what would be the best compressor to buy for quality and power, I may occasionally use it for spraying but will only be for small panels e.g wing or tail gate. My main use will be will be for the following tools:

belt sander
air saw
Die Grinder

Don't really want go over the 300 pounds mark

absolute bare minimum of 2hp and 50 lt, and that will struggle to keep up with some of those tools.

You really need a 3hp 100lt.

Yes - put your money in to the CFM of the pump rather than the size of the tank.

I agree, the size of the tank just gives a buffer for when you are using tools which even a 3hp may not be able to keep up with (which are few).

If you are using the tools continuously, the HP or CFM (cos they are usually linked, but not necessarily true) is more important.

If you are likely to be using the tools for shortish blasts, then a larger tank and lower cfm will work, cos the tank will act as a buffer and still have loads if air inside until it gets below the working pressure of the tool (or close to it). But it means you may have to stop every so often to let the tank fill up.

I know that if I was buying another compressor, I would go a for a 3hp 100lt. Ive currently got a 2hp 50lt and it struggles with some tools, to the point of being bloody annoying. But when I bought it about 10 years ago space was more of prioirity and the 100lt was obviously twice the size lol.

Tell you what veedub, you wouldn't go far wrong with this little puppy! 10CFM free air delivery, 50L receiver and only needs a 16A supply! Got a feeling someone else on here has one have a search on the forum.
