I'm using more and more 6mm rod for decorative items you can make some brilliant things with some imagination.

Anyhow I need a cheap dirty former so quick rummage in the junk bin half hours welding and grinding jobs done.

quite like that idea may rob it what does the bolt do just hold piece in place? im fairly new to this

Yeah bolt just holds the rod means you don't need much left on the length as it cant roll off.
