Swarf collection.

Not sure if it's been discussed before but I need a way to collect swarf that flys everywhere.
In particular the larger pieces that either block the hoovers or are too big to go up the pipe but sit on the end.

I have seen two types. One like a bicycle pump and one with wheels.
I think I would like one liked the wheeled one but one that can get into smaller areas.

Any suggestions or search terms?

I have been looking forward to tidying up for 2 weeks now but half term and I'll grandkids forced an unexpected delay... And then I realised I had planned to treat myself. but forgot.

When I clean up on customers premises I use the one on wheels,twisting,turning and lifting a little,also a powerful magnet in a plastic bag.

I have on like this and a wheeled one i'll see if I can find it online but rarely use mostly I use this one

I went through this last year. Henry effective until it blocked up. I bought an evolution swarf wand thing. Game changer. I use it on the lathe and mill. Also bend down and stroke it across the floor. Then henry comes out and doesn't generally block due to the missed bits being smaller... I also bought a rubber bristle sweeping brush. This is great too as the swarf doesn't get stuck in the bristles.

I don't use aluminium much, but stainless is a bit of a pain.

I am 99.9% stainless and aluminium, I find the shoes of the sales reps that visit are the best swarf collectors

What have they charged you? I paid via credit card so can't see yet. But it shows the full price on the shipping invoice.

Yes....half the paperwork shows full price. The other half shows the reduced price.

Another tip I have done for flying chips from the drill press.
Next trash day, if you see a microwave oven or similar metal housing curbside, pick it up.
Take off the main "U" shaped enclosure, and stand it up around the DP.
It stops the chips from flying so far, and for larger parts, you can simply move it away.

I have various old speaker magnets inside plastic bags. One sits on the drill, one on the bandsaw and several are 'stored' on the bench legs.
Must get around to putting one inside a bit of plastic drain for cleaning the floor.
