I've been upgrading my kit over the last two years, and have recently had more tig stuff to do, so i bought this new welder a couple of weeks ago.
After a chat with Matt1978 i bought it through Prospot, who poped down with the machine and gave me a run through with all the controls.
While i was getting carried away i went with the water cooler and foot pedal as well.
The torch is a size 20, which is nice and small to get into awkward spaces
The poor pic below shows the easy to use control panel
I'm only using pretty basic controls at the mo until i have time to mess about and work out some good settings.
I used it for about 2 days straight off as i had a fair bit of stuff to stick together.
The arc was nice and stable compared to my old tig.
The one thing i forgot about was how much gas is used i went through 1/2 a "w" sized bottle pretty sharpish. That was partly down to the distance to the bottle, so i have one of those gas savers on it now, which seems to have helped a lot.
At the moment i'm mainly welding 1" steel tubing.
The fit up of the joins are sometimes not brilliant so i think this causes problems.
Anyway a few pics...
This weld has a bit of what looks like undercut in the middle maybe due to the poor fit or not enough filler ?
I hope to start improving with a bit more practice and time on the welder.
Any comments on the welds welcome.
I'll post more pics of welds with the machine when i use it a bit more.
