TACK WELD - SPECIFY

Hello weld gurus
what's the proper way to specify a tack weld
when welding two rebars ( carbon steel )
together. It's not a structural weld, just for
location purposes only.

1 rebar ( 20 mm dia ) is horizontal & the other rebar ( 20 mm ) is sitting on top of
the horizontal rebar at an angle of 45 degrees.

the Throat size is one parameter,
do i need to specify the weld length as its
basically just a nugget .
any other parameters needed to be specified
like W & S ???

All I've ever done in the UK is add a note "tack weld" . . .

Had to be careful in the USA, as that really meant "stitch weld" from what I remember.

it is structural as people walk on them before (and during) the placing of the concrete.
Not to the full strength in service when the concrete cures, but there is loading.

The rapid quench couped with the higher carbon, I would specify something more than a tack.
I always establish a good puddle when doing re-bar.
