Hi all,
Finally joined up here after a long time lurking. Great forum with loads of fantastic info. Been wanting to learn to weld for ages but could never quite justify the expense, but after being let down by a couple of guys who said they would fix the slightly crusty floor in my BMW I thought sod it might as well give it a go myself- if you want something doing properly and all that.
I've done engine rebuilds and suspension work before but never welded, I sit doing 3d CAD design all day at work (Airfix model kits of all things) so love getting my hands dirty at the weekend when I can fit it in.
Not got hold of a welder yet but been doing lots of reading and watching videos, got a shopping list of bits to get and worked out where to get gas from, thankfully my wife is really supportive in me learning new things so all good there
