Tank flush ?

I bought a 2nd compressor and gave it a service with new parts etc, the old oil filter bit inside was naff, and I think oil leaked I to the tank as when I run it and general open the drain valve there's horrid sludge stuff coming out, never had a compressor so not sure if it's the norm.

That sludge is emulsion, a mixture of oil & water. Clean water is normal, you may have worn bores or piston rings.

dont wurry about it mine chucks a bit of oil out and in to the tank . at least it will never go rusty and mines 40 years old

I was worried about it going into the pipe and into the spray gun ?

Use a decent filter and keep a set of hoses just for spraying.

make sure u fit the filter regulator on the tank and for spraying use a second one near the end of the line
