Hello Daniel,
if you chuck a relatively large diameter short job in the chuck the chances are the front face will not run true. Press the outer race of the bearing gently into the job will bring that face true. I use it for edge finding in my miller.

I have turned a bar of Aluminum so that its the length of my spindle shaft and the diameter is a snug inside diameter fit,feed the bar up the spindle from the back of the headstock,put the short stock piece in the jaws,push the piece against the bar and tighten the jaws.
I had to read this a few times before I understood it.
Ahh cheese,just spent 10 mins looking for it.I must get subscibed to his channel as it would be easier to find each weekwatched it last night
