Teacher Gift

Thought I would throw on my effort for a handmade teacher gift for this year.

The missus likes to make gift pots (painted terracotta pot with handcut lettering on) but as my son has had a brilliant teacher this year and he plays golf I made this golf bag from a section of copper pipe, some copper sheet offcuts and welding rods :

Considering that teachers get a lot of flak and occasionally have to ward off fists, I reckon that will be a real delight for the guy(ess)
Ah, just noticed it is a guy.

About 5 1/2 inches high approximately, 22mm copper pipe section with small squares or copper folded on one edge for the pockets and a folded piece for the towel, and then welding rods of different thicknesses for the handles and wheels and a dob of bronze on the ends of some bent rods to make the clubs.

Gave it to him this afternoon and he loved it and said it will go on his desk.

Being a teacher I've never gotten a present that has had so much thought or effort gone into it. I of course cherish any gifts that my students would put the effort into getting, but I think this is awesome! Must be a great teacher!

Did you just use solder? The same type of solder used to just sweat pipes?

Its gas brazing rod to join the parts together, its the first one I have made and I intend to make more to sell for the home craft business.

That's so lovely, that teacher will definitely cherish that one!! I made little snails for all my daughter's teachers and teaching assistants this year, on her request. The last few years I've given them steel flowers but my daughter was helping me in the forge a few weeks ago and we made a few snails so she insisted that they got snails this year!!
