Temp fix for plastic fuel tank

Any quick way to temp fix one of these to last for a few weeks I know there cheap to buy 6ish but want to see if the bike runs and moves before spend as the parts list is growing and to sell as spares will not cover the parts list

What bike is it as have used a drinks bottle before as a temp fuel tank to see if an old suzuki gs would run.

Tanks used on non rotary mowers are great for test purposes as they have a on-off tap.

Update having a play was looking for years at plastic welding with cable ties

Tryed it with a soldering iron at around 300oc you need it to melt not burn

My son had a 3d pen set for Xmas

i used a bit of this i run around the crack with the iron and then bulcked it up with the plastic from my son's 3d pen using my iron to melt it seams to have worked as said temp measure so see if it runs

I’ve used a soldering iron to “weld” flip up scope covers back together. Found I had to use the same plastic as they were made from to be reasonably successful. Didn’t last long, a few months maybe.

Easiest way is to heat up screw driver with blow torch (away from fuel tank !) and use spade part to melt and push plastic over damage. Or if you have a hot air gun set to about 180c and use that to heat up the plastic and use screw driver to move plastic around. You can weld the same plastic to its self but dissimilar plastics will not weld together and last.
If you know what plastic the tank is made of you can get rods of the same material and weld them, the fix will be permanent. l hot air weld a lot of polypropylene and HDPE tanks, did some 3m tall ones for my fish farm only 2 x 4mm filet welds held 10000 litres no problem.

Not got to weld for long the carb on the bike is leaking to only thing that runs is the engine at the moment
