Does anyone have any useful sources of Terex bits please?

Specifically 90’s Terex Dumpers. More specifically the brake caliper overhaul kits for a 3066C

I’ve got one in at the moment with no brakes. Because the calipers are all humped. Pistons and housings are fine, just need seal kits etc throughout.

It had a bad relay valve so rather than repair it, they just didn’t use the brakes. That was about ten years ago. Now it needs brakes which is why I come in.

Terex are unhelpful as fk. Tried all the usuals I deal with but it’s too old or not mainstream enough (they were mainly an army thing)

Any leads gratefully received

Go on plant talk forum. Someone there will likely know. Or know what alternatives are available

Worth trying FPE Seals. Not their usual deal but they may have some contacts.

Am pretty sure they were bought in, cannot recall who made them. I supplied the steering and priority valve and tested them with Terex when they went into production.

James, Terex were big into acquisitions and slapped their badges on a lot of equipment, they sold off Terex to Volvo so you may be able to get spares from them.

Looking at that Terax dumper - I just picture cold/wet/hard work in my mind.

Thought of taking a wheel off that and doing an axle set of brakes with a fluid leak as well - makes me feel ill.

No idea on industrial stuff really but had a matbro forklift which was bought by/same as terex so a call to great exportations or matbroman may be helpful if you are stuck (and they are still in business).

different strokes, for different folks. I am an Agricultural Engineer, that is the kind of job , I would be all over. I would rather, spend a day , outside, doing a job like that, than spending a few hours in a workshop, doing electrical /wiring jobs, or software updates. No offence intended, @premmington . I might be nuts , but the bigger the challange, the more enjoyment/ satisfaction, I get, when it is fixed. Apart from electrical jobs, have no interest in them and servicing bores me, to be honest.

@James1979 , Did you try ,Balgownie, @Inverurie ? I am sure , they used to be Terex. Try asking, for the oldest/longest serving storeman, on the plant side. Don't know ,who that is, but that approach, sometimes works rather than , computer is not listing anything, generic response.

Thats the rub, not many of these big dumper builders make their own running gear. Its knowing and identifying, our Terex dumper is a rebadged Thwaites.

Matbroman is still about.
He was sorting a ts270 where I am.

Don’t know much about them but would it be worth gandering through the mod disposal experts. As a few have said they were used by the army etc one of them may have something stashed away in a warehouse corner that they have forgotten about.

Plenty of leads to follow.

The good news is that they seem to be somewhat generic, to a point, so I am hoping that the seal kits are in stock somewhere.

I’ve tried my usual seals guy. He doesn’t like brakes. I think it’s insurance, but he’s looking into it for me anyway. I’ll try a couple of the seals factors listed here, thank you

@premmington it is all of those. I had to take a wheel off to ‘encourage’ a caliper to relax so we could move it, then put the wheel back on to move it I think I just about sh1t a third testicle doing that so I am in no hurry to do the others!

Just to finish this thread.

I got a PM but that guy was unable to help. He did however put me in touch with Andy at Heavy Vehicle Brakes in Bristol who has them in stock.

Worth knowing if anyone else has the stupidity need to mess about with these things in future.
