Tesa digital calipers

Has anyone tried one of these?
Not too happy with my Moore and Wright Chinese special. I have a few older Mitutoyos and they aren't wonderful either.

Good unbiased test here - they sell all of them anyway! Sylvac came top but a bit too pricy.

After using the mics I was expecting all their gear to be the best.
I got a Tesa dial caliper and it's not as smooth as Mitutoyo's are so maybe their digital calipers aren't as good?
I probably would have bought one to try, but was put off for some reason, it was the round depth bit that put me off.

They do them in round or square. This test reckons they are better than the same price range Mitutoyo. Seems pretty unbiased as they sell all of them!

I only ever saw the round depth thing and went for what I know.
Buy some and find out?

Have the exact calipers you are looking at at work. Cant fault them, stand up well to our abuse and on par with the mitutoyo absolute's we have too

It has an auto off, proper pain in the **** you've made a very careful measurement have to put it down to check something else when you come the measurement has gone and no thumb wheel, I always think those are cheap.

I’ve got some that I bought s/h from a forum member about three years ago. Very good, very smooth action, batteries last a long time and I personally don’t have a problem with the auto-off as they seem to stay on for about an hour or more before turning off. No problem with accuracy either, and I’ve tested them with gauge blocks spot on.

Tesa should be good.

Watch some of their stuff though. since brown and sharpe got hold of them a lot of bits are becoming chinesium.

Even the indicators aren't made in Switzerland any more.

I know this isn't what you asked but I got a set of these a few months ago and they're way better than the other 4 or 5 digital calipers I've had in the past.
Extremely robust and the measurements seem reassuringly repeatable.
