picked up some cheap linear bearing locally this weekend for a very good price.
They're a bit chunky though!


I got 4 rails about 6foot long each and ten carraridges. Also a 10 foot long 2" ballscrew!
I now have most of the mechanical parts to make a very solid CNC mill.

No, the little ones in this pic are 45mm. The big ones are NSK 58mm.

I've already stripped 6 of them down. Re packing linear bearings is usually a giant PITA but these are easy, the balls are 3/8"!

Pop one endcap off and feed all the balls in. Easy.

Yep, they were only about 5 miles away. I put an offer in that was accepted so got them for a good price. I already have two 40mm heavy duty ballscrews so together I have all the part for 3 very heavy axis.
