Our boy was born in 2005 so got the £500. It was also possible to top it up, so a very kind friend added £250, for a total of £750 investment 16 years ago.
It's now worth £380 - we would have had a better return putting it on the dogs. Total waste of public and private money - feel free to insert your own "and what did the banks do with it?" comments...
