I greatly respect Ingersoll Rand, I have a lovely T30 myself. Quincy really are the business though, I don't think they have ever been sold in the UK due to the price !

No doubt about this needing a dedicated 3 phase connection with a contacter !

It's probity only a 7hp motor so 30amp would be plenty

Would need a UK spec motor as the one on it is 460 volt 3 phase, 30 amp.
I don't actually need it, it's just compressor lust !

It would probily work on the lower voltage so stop trying to find excuses and get one sorted!

Wonder if it could be re-wound to 415 V ?! Imagine the start up surge on that !

Also, motor would be 60hz so I think it would be unhappy on 50 pulling more current !

60 stuff will work fine on 50 it's the other way round you get problems

it wouldnt take a lot of starting current with a star delta starter , its not direct on line

Not exactly a big motor, the last place I worked at had a 4 Mva motor, limited to one start every 20 minutes.

Are they unloaders on the heads?, If so compressor would be running for as long as it was switched on.Even when up to pressure. Just free wheeling till the tank pressure dropped.

Yes, hydraulically operated. All I need now is the use for such a beast and the funds to run it ! I wish !

Time has been my problem !! It's in the garage at my mums place but it seems whenever I'm there I have other things to do or it's raining ! Rain means I can't make space to work by moving things outside ! I haven't even managed to get any bikes on the road yet this year !
