Well... with the 106 finished it was only a matter of time before I got the itch...

After a few years of dragging the lad and mines bikes around in the SEAT enough was enough.

I needed a van...

Now, this was a decision easier said than implemented...

Vans as it turns out come in a few categories...

HIGH milers, tidy body, expensive
HIGH HIGH milers, tidy body, reasonably priced
LOW miles, f**ked bodywork, reasonably priced

Etc etc etc...

So after 8 months of hunting I found the ultimate combo...

Low miles, good bodywork, reasonable price..

Considering I'd also banked on it being a berlingo or partner - 3 seats (ok, 2½ seats!) Aircon and NOT white. This was truly the unicorn..

Then I discovered the roof flaps around like a whores knickers.....

With things quieter in the back... it was determined the standard peugeot audio was a bit.......

The previous owner has already fitted rear parking sensors ..

In my opinion LWB vans look a bit.... odd..

Especially the Berlingo/Partner

however... SWB problems were discovered ...

The bleeding ½ bulkhead was restricting the bikes, especially the 26" wheel..

So..

I had a measure up,

Chop chop
Weld weld
Spray spray

It was then determined, bikes upright, were an utter **** to secure, they love to fall over

After sitting in the back for a while having a cigar it dawned on me.. upside down was the way to go.. the bars on the floor made them stable and thanks to triangles and hypotenuse and wheelbase things they end up shorter too..
