Thermostatic valve for outdoor tap.

I want to put a thermostatic mixing valve onto the feed for my outdoor tap for mini grim's paddling pool (it has a tree thing that sprays water constantly)...I'm fed up with running the hose from the kitchen mixer.

I'd like it to have built in isolation for when I only want cold... presumably this jobbie would do or is there something more suitable my search terms isn't finding?

You might need to bypass it if you want cold only. It may be open only to the hot side until it reaches temp.

I fitted a similar set up in my previous house for my grandkids. Ran hot feed from combi to an external tap next to cold external tap.
Didn’t bother with thermostatic valve just part filled paddling pool with cold & the topped up from hot tap to comfortable temperature. Got sick of watching them go blue with cold only filling.

I could do a separate hot tap and run a mixer but if it's possible I'd like to have a set and forget set up.

Her little pool has a thing that sprays fresh water in constantly to stop it going cold.

That's what I.used for my dog wash out side tap.

Thats not how they work.
They default / fail safe to cold.

They always mix in at least 5 to 10% cold even on the hottest setting & when not up to temp.
Its ok to give you cold water but not overly hot water.

Get one that is easily adjusted.

I used a made for trade one and 1/4 turn pegler taps, the working bits will end up in the back of a kitchen unit with an access panel.

I got a calor gas instant water heater for SWMBO so she can wash off the horses and dogs, that's thermostatically controlled and just hangs on two screws. Lift it off in the winter and put it away.

Doesn't need to be scalding, just enough that she doesn't turn blue in her paddling pool. The one I linked to is 30c to 50c which is plenty.

If for some reason I need a hot tap I'll put one in.
