Thin plate Bender

This is my attempt at making a tool to bend thin metal plate.
Its based around some box section i got from an old desk, a piece of angle plate i had made up for a chassis repair on a Lada but never used it, and some hinges from a cable management arm from a server rack.
All welding done with my Clarke 100EN and Co2.
So...Here it is

Looks good...I've tried to make one of these but can't get my head around the 'hinge' bit!!

Also I need to make a ring roller...have you made one??

for the hinge bit i got two hinges one either end and clamped them in place to get the correct location and then move the box section until i got it correct. I need some bigger hinges and stronger metal really.
Ive not made a ring roller...Whats that then ?

Hi,

I made one a while ago, detailed on here somewhere.

For the hinges I used an old trailer jockey wheel shaft and cut a couple of slices around 1" wide out of it.

Basically that shaft is approx 1" diameter solid round inside a tube and it's a smooth sliding fit. I guess you could make something up quite easily.

The hinges are 4 lengths of thickwall tube that had a diameter very nearly equal to a bolt size and the pins are a pair of hard bolt that fit the tube.
