My eldest son has started college on a general engineering course, he's just finished doing MMA they've also had a play with point and shoot MIG.
Next week he starts TIG, so I let him have a go at TIG on the BBQ he's building, a 4" hinge 47 kg gas bottle, 120 amp on the foot pedal 1.6 tungsten 2.4 mm filler rod.
Five minutes of instructional talk, I expected to have to grind the several times, no contamination or touch downs at all.
Here's his very 1st/2nd TIG welds.
