Threaded adaptor?

I just got myself a nice new gun but the fitting on it is unlike my other gun/air tools and is threaded rather than the push fit kind. Can I get some sort of adaptor and if so what am I looking for?

All reasonable quality air tools have threaded fittings...........in most cases 1/4 bsp. These come in a variety of different types, which accept a wide range of differing quick release air line couplers.

A roll of PTFE tape will help with the air tight seal

I know the fitting the OP is talking about, it has a threaded collar with an open side so the other half of the coupling can be inserted and the collar screwed up to close the flat faces, one of which has a rubber seal. Horrible !! Only solution is to remove them and replace with PCL or similar. If the airline that came with the compressor is nylon tube though, the fitting cannot easily be replaced.

I know the fitting your on about, I have one with a type 23 fitting as one side of it. I have never seen fittings like them, apart from the one I have.

This is the fitting that came with the air line on a small hobby compressor I bought years ago. Only ever use it for tyre inflation and stuff like that, it's reminded me that I must change the fitting though, it's a PITA !!
