in relation to my 'signed off' post, here is the toolbox trolley i am making. started it this morning at half 8, and had to stop at 2, so its not finished, but here are the pics so far.
started of cutting up some 20x20mm box, and stripping the old paint from the weld areas, squared it all up on the bench, and tacked it together. decided it needed a brace in the middle, so i cut one to size and tacked that in, then welded all joints up front and pack with full penetration. found some scrap steel in my locker that was roughly the size i wanted for the stops on the edges, to stop the box from sliding off, and tacked then welded them on(not really in any specific place, just where they looked like they needed to go). cut 4 plates of 5mm mild steel to accept the rather large castor wheels, drilled two M8 holes and then alligned them to the frame. tacked one on, and welded it up fully, then got called to an urgent job so will have to finish it tomorrow
using a kennedy eaw160 ac transformer arc welder and 3.2mm 3016 rods, except for the stops, as they are only 1.5mm, so i used 2.5mm 6013's and used a stitch type technique
