Toshiba TV misbehaving

Our 32" flat screen tv has started going strange, in that when you turn it on, the standby light goes off, then on again, then fades off, rinse and repeat for 15 minutes, then it finally comes alive and works perfectly until you turn it off again. Does anyone have any idea why? Is it just on it's way out or is there something I could do about it?

Our Toshiba is the opposite, won’t turn off. Switch it off, it comes back on with a blank screen. Does this three four times then goes off. I’ll get fed up soon and just switch it off at the wall

Changing the capacitors would probably fix it. I assume you mean the whole TV doesn't turn on for the 15 minutes.

you have dry joints you need to resolder the main power board

once the tv warms up it stays on

Ours does it. Have to
Turn off at plug and back on.

Remote has always been useless but not fails
To respond at all.

I have a Toshiba that's done the same since practically new. Disconnect the mains at the wall, but IMPORTANT - hold the on/off button in for 30 seconds, before plugging it back into the wall socket. Seems to 'reboot' it somehow - for a bit anyway....

I once tried to fix our B & W telly - it didn't end well....

Find the same with mine, from new and its hardly an old smart TV - If it doesn't temporarily lock up, it'll do a quick "reboot" and powercycle instead

It doesn't have a button, it's touch control!

Yes that. Takes fifteen minutes to "warm up" then works fine.
