touch up paint

hi
moving on from my last problem i have now sprayed my lower doors with an aerosol spray which looks good but i now need to touch up a few digs and scatches i have a tin of paint and thinners, question is what is the best way to mix the paint and thinner to get the best results

If you are using a small brush to touch up chips etc I wouldn't mix any thinners in.
