towin a frame

hi all,
im new to forum, im currently a student mechanic and would like to build an a frame for towing has anyone done this before, its the simple and dismantlable type to fit in boot of car im looking any guidance, expertise or any plans are inparticularly usefull.

What are you intending to tow and for what purpose?

It's a VERY grey area a frames even VOSA don't know if there legal especially once you go over unbraked weight 750kg MAX less if the car manufacture say so

ive just built one and put my pics on here feel free to have a look i built it without plans and just had an idea in my head its not as portable as the professionaly built ones but does come apart i was quite chuffed with it and it does work although i did have a few teething problems but ironed them out as far as the law is concerned ive researched and its a massive grey area just do it is my motto rab

one area that is not a grey area is

the car must be taxed if any of its wheels are on the road
and it must be insured, i looked into this with the traffic police

thats the grey area as the car being towed is classed as a trailer as long as its 750kg or less at the end of the day its down to individual cops most wouldnt know the first thing about this anyway and as long as youve lights and reg plate would probably not bother. im not saying your wrong but ive done loads of searches on this and every one comes up with a different answer and if you were to call 2 different police stations they would probably give 2 differing answers too. my brother is in the MET in London and even he couldnt get a straight answer on the subject. rab
