I had these as a kid! Each came in a yellow tool box, 2 off HP2 batteries underneath the tray some sort of white toast like substance to cut, drill etc. Each had a 2 pole polarised plug which fitted a socket in the tray. The drill came with 3 not very sharp spade bits ok on the toast stuff but struggled with real wood like balsa wood!! Great fun hopefully still somewhere at my mother's place.

As a kid I did pick up my father's real one, Wolf drill and got on fine with it!

Talking with a younger colleague a little while back he was horrified to learn that us oldies played with real steam engines (Mamod, Meccano) filling them with meths, singing the living room carpet etc!!!

I had a collection once, no idea where it went but there was a chainsaw, a circular saw a drill and something else, they were tiny, I think the chainsaw was about an inch and a half long and they were all clockwork. Think I gave them to my youngest, cannot remember now.

We had a toy chainsaw, produced for Stihl. It look very life like. All my kids played with it. My two boys did drag my real chainsaw out but luckily didn’t take the cover off or manage to start it.
