My Euro5 2013 Transit motorhome engine rebuild went as well as could be expected I think. I paid the local "expert" to remove and replace the lump, new concentric fitted, plate and DMF were good. Piston 1 was in 2 pieces, No2 was showing hairlines.
Started it up after the rebuild, ran like a bag of nails. So the injectors went away, 3 came back, No1, which was in warranty went missing....
Eventually they fixed, sorry found it, and told me there was nothing wrong with it. Anyway, potential claims against them for an engine failure is going to be difficult, and might prove to be more hassle than its worth, put that to one side for now.
Two issues still exist, the clutch is now slipping, where it never did before - is there a possibility the mc is not releasing fluid and pressurising the slave? Pedal is very near the top.
Issue no2, the power steering is not working. It's a simple flooded suction pump, but it's not pressurising the outlet. I didn't run it dry on startup, it just never drew the fluid in. After a couple of hours running, some short runs, the fluid in the reservoir has turned grey (this after flushing it out twice). If I'm honest I would say it looks like its boogad, but why?
This whole thing is low mileage (38,000 miles), I will never ever by a Ford again, and if I decide to keep this I will need my head examining...
