Are you copying the Boxford one or designing from scratch? The reason I ask is the OEM ones were usually located to work with the toolpost originally supplied with the lathe. If you happen to use a QCTP, for instance, the dimension between the tool's cutting edge and the toolpost bolt is usually different, so you might need to do a mock up to check the alignment works.
Just copying the Boxford one and the toolpost is the original Rapid.

Bit more done today, easy reaming to start with! 
Sometimes you just have to do the tilty head thing
A quick think about the harder one, mill or lathe? A bit of clamping, piece of HSS as packing underneath and it just cleared.
Adjuster holes drilled and tapped, the tip holders are from the fixed steady I made ages ago, although I think I'll put another groove in them so the adjusters aren't so far out. Just the clamp screw holes to drill and tap and a bit of paint

Are the clamp screws to be projecting (knurled knob) or flush (dog point grub screw)? If they stick out, consider putting then on the tailstock side* of the steady in case you need to work close to the chuck. The photo shows the finger keyways on the headstock side, hence the question.
* Or, while it is set up, make provision to have them on both sides.
@Agroshield dog point grub screws, made them up earlier this morning.

Paint, make adjusters (as I've knicked these from the fixed steady) and put another groove in the fingers.

I'm not making them to sell, my Boxford 280 didn't come with the steadies ( but with everything else). I was too tight to buy them at the price they wanted. I'll wait a couple of days for the paint to harden off, then keep them in the cabinet with the other goodies.
