Anyone got / use one of THESE in metalworking applications, how do you find it when grinding.....? I know they are primarily for use in woodwork applications, just wandering if they work in the metal workshop environment.......

May be OK on aluminium but don't know from experience,Wouldn't like to use one on steel, those things usually rev at around 20,000 to 30,000 rpm.Adjustable speed one are available but still don't think they will be any good.I have used my Makita on quite a few woodwork jobs with excellent results but never tried steel etc, I am willing to be enlightened if any of our members know otherwise,

A bit confusing - when I click on the link I seem to arrive at a different place in the Trend website each time - I'm guessing you are talking about the Airshield Pro Respirator rather than a router to be used as a die grinder (which is, I think, what Gordon assumed)?

Have changed the link Graham....yes the respirator is what I am talking about....

Ok its looks like they are also suitable for grinding of metal to BS EN 12941 TH2

Iv'e got one and use it mostly when woodworking.
It seems to work just as well for plasma cutting and grinding.
No crunchy black snot and the filters look very grubby which implies that they work.
At 20 quid a pair I wash mine and reuse them.
A bit heavy on the head but not too bad.
I would say pricey but worth the effort.
