tripping compressor

hi guys have purchased a compressor from machine mart and have had a electrician install a 16 amp plug and a 32 amp for my welder i plug the compressor in and turn it on and it trips my box eventually after a few filicks of the switch on my board i fires up fills up and then trips the box out again can anybody point me in the right direction am i missing a setting on the machine is really frustrating as ive just bought a plasma cutter off weldquip and cant wait to to use it.this is the machine i bought

What type of MCB has been installed in the circuit ? It needs to be a type C.

the compressor may need a larger mcb than a 16 amp .check with machine mart and they will advise. the starting load is high so a c type breaker will be needed some need a 20 amp or even a 30 . if a 30 amp is needed technicaly u need a 30 amp plug as u allready have one it isnt a problem but get advice from manafacturer 1st

spoke to machine mart they said it should be a 16mp but a maximum of 20 and also says a amximum of 20 amps on the machine.will it state on the switch on the board if its a c type?

You will need to look at the actual MCB, or trip switch, MCB stands for Miniature Circuit Breaker. The type will be stated on the front of the MCB.

the circuit breaker will have b16 on it if a 'B' type, you will need a c16.

just dug my way to the back of the garage and opened the box and hey presto it's a b type mcb i will pop into my local electrical wholeslers tommorow and get one.will give that a try and see what happens,also would my 32 amp have to b a c type

posibly not just try it . if theres a problem change it

couldn't wait so i went to screwfix and bought two 16a 32a c type mcbs and even collered my good neighbour jason (sparky)to come and fit them tommorow fingers crossed

If your compressor is tripping you should stop it's supply of LSD

another issuse guys its not powering my drill or my dye grinder or my cut off tool was told by the lads at machine mart that it would but no joy,i have set the psi to 120 i get two good spurts out of it and itseems to die a death ?

More than likely the regulator is choking the air supply and the airline is too small.

a posibility .run the tools and see what the pressure drops to .if it hardly drops its as said a restriction in airflow. if pressure drops significantly and tools run slow either comp cant keep up or the tools arent eficient
