tungsten grinder for 240v die grinder

or is it just easier to get a diamond wheel for one of the angle grinders?

yes, my question was, is there a grinder attachment available for a 240v die grinder, or if not is it worth getting a wheel for an angle grinder?

if i had a bench grinder available i wouldnt be asking the question...

is there a problem or something? i asked a really simple question...i didnt ask what everyone else uses, just wanted to know either way between 2 options that suit me

thats what i seem to be finding now. i remember years ago there was a 'cheap' or atleast cheaper alternative, a complete tool but cant find them now so i may just be imagining it

Any complete units I have seen have been very expensive industrial style ones. I made my own for a Dremel but nowadays Amazon etc are awash with cheap Chinese produced ones such as THIS

thats the style i have been seeing.

i vaguely recall someone on here had made an alternative, however that may have just been a design or thought, it would have been between 5 and 10 years ago if it even happened and isnt just a figment of my imagination.

i think for now a diamond grinding wheel for the angle grinder may be the simplest solution. i havent got a problem with the angles needed, just looking for a better solution to a flap disc

that could very well be what i am thinking of then, just a diluted memory as i wasnt ever interested in tig back then

I got lucky and was poking about when he decided to do a second run - but he did say he bloody hated doing them because they were too finicky and got in the way of making mini-moto parts

You could get one made or 3d printed. JLC do cheap SLS printing in stainless for example, tho plastic would do it.

What diameter is the mouting of your die grinder?

You could fabricate one, bend a sheet steel guard for the wheel with a screw clamp to grinder, and weld on some guide tubes at the correct angle.

Personally I think die grinder is too useful, heavy and overpowered for the task and will mean your swapping bits often, unless you have a spare one. Still massively overpowered.
Get a cheap cordless dremmel clone from Lidl..?

The challenge with a non-Dremel version is that every full size die grinder would have a different mounting.

Every Dremel, including Dremeloid copies, has the same thread just behind the collet nut.

So, as above, you would need to state what die grinder you are using and then design something bespoke to fit it.

The other challenge with a die grinder is that they would have a 1/4" or 6mm collet to hold a burr or mounted stone. Tungstens are normally sharpened with a diamond wheel and finding both the arbor to hold the wheel and the wheel itself might be difficult.

it would only be used occasionaly to be honest, i think i will likely just be better off grinding by hand

i can find 6mm arbors for a 25mm diamond cut off wheel. the mounting would be tricky though as the main body of my grinder is tapered ever so slightly, and it has nothing really to act as a depth stop to get consistent results.

griding by hand or with a drill against the grinder seems to be the way forward then

At a guess, the motor is a Fakita, as they are the most copied. But that still makes it tricky to find as there are no pictures or sizes given in the listing.
