came across this product on LinkedIn. Looked just the ticket and ideal to keep in the truck for the odd lifting/slinging job where an fixed length sling is just too long or short.

So enquired about a few 2m or 3m chains.

I can now see why they are advertising the hell out of it.

Looks great if you are not the one footing the bill. (Although i am not sure i would have as much faith in a fabric sling around a steel edge as i would a metal chain)
You could have a lot of different length/capacity slings for the same price.
Only slightly off topic, i have found the hooks for round slings very handy for a few jobs recently.

Brad you can buy decent chain and put on your own shorteners. Its pretty much all I use for just about everything, cant think of a situation where they wont do the job. I even use them as a choker on timber.

Wire rope slings only for sharp objects, chain is banned where I work.

Brad you can buy decent chain and put on your own shorteners. Its pretty much all I use for just about everything, cant think of a situation where they wont do the job. I even use them as a choker on timber.

I just thought the nylon chain would be very useful for delicate items where I would normally use a polyester sling and I can shorten it easily. Can’t shorten slings that well.

Also it can go in the truck without weighing a tonne.

Shame really such a useful product

I dont know what they are load tested to but you need to be a very "special" person to break one, I have dragged out 10ton machines sunk up to the belly plates with these and they haven`t snapped.

Damar products are good most of my recovery strops are from them and have lasted well

I'd be looking at a few assorted strops or round slings...you can always double them up to shorten, or add a shackle... you can buy a lot of them for the price of a twin leg chain set of that stuff.


What rating are those prices for? Great if you need a really long set I guess, keeps the weight down.

5T for the lifting chain.

10t for the lashing chain

A decent rating then. A 5t-ish steel 3m twin leg with clutches is probably not much more than a metre of that with a hook on the end.

I suppose the question is do you often happen to come across a job where you suddenly need a set of 5t chains off the cuff?
If you've hired in cranes they only like using thier own tackle usually.
Most big lifting jobs tend to be planned, just chuck them in the truck when required.


I guess they get de-rated the same as any other chain or strap if used in certain ways too.
And carefully not to over stress them if used for pulling.

I can see that tycan stuff taking too long to inspect every usage and far too long to recertify every 6 months.
