ultrasonic cleaner for home /diy use

has anyone got their own ultrasonic cleaner for home use , thinking carb parts , fuel injectors etc ...maybe upto £50

are the diy ones worth a go or not powerfull enough

I brought one 5 yrs ago off greedybay big enough for a bank of 4 carbs cost me £600 plus fluid new so 50 notes might be a stretch as it be a Chineese offering but works a treat.

mine will take a pair of 40 DCOE Webers side by side........ the small 1's for 50 notes arn't that deep either........
mine also did the alloy heads on me Indians plus loads of other stuff..........but was almost £600 plus the fluid........
bit of a waste for a mower carb but hey-ho........

I have one of the smaller ones, wish I'd saved up a bit more and got a larger size, but space is a consideration in the shed.

I bought a 3 litre one for small parts - bike/outboard carbs and engine parts, works well, though like advised, larger would have been better, car carbs can only be done sticking out the tank, so not ideal if you do car parts. I paid about £50 for it a few years ago, now seems to cost double!

Mine is 3litre with a heater and cost around £125 three years ago. Does me well for lawnmower carbs etc For £50 its likely to be intended for jewellery or watch parts.

Capacity aside, mine has cleaned some really crap-covered stuff [engine parts etc]

I raided the World's Best Skip for one, it has problems and needs a new piezo disc and the electrickery going over, but it's about a 5 - 6 litre or more, looks like a camper van sink? It has a digital-display thermostatic heater and timer, even a tap for draining it...

The piezo discs I ordered from the Bay of Evil arrived from china in a large number of pieces, anyone know of a (reasonably priced) UK seller?

@Hopefuldave try this firm in Hoddesdon called Allendale, there were very helpful to me even though I didn't buy anything off them. They sell all kind of parts for ultrasonic cleaners. https://www.allendale-ultrasonics.co.uk/
I have a 10 litre cleaner with heater and timer, has 4 piezo emmiters and was quite powerful until it stopped working!
I'm not sure if it's one of the drivers or all 4 piezo's that have failed. Another job for the list.....

I've got that 2.5l one, sometimes wish I had gone bigger, think heating is a must and really aids filth removal, but then again so does the type of fluid, used to buy US specific cleaning fluid, have been making my own for years now from my own little recipe, loads cheaper and much more effective

So what's the special fluid? I have just been adding a bit of truck wash.
I bought a cheapo ebay 5L one.

For the mix I use 50% Isopropanol, big squirt fairy liquid, 50% water. Then add that at about 10% to the hot tank water.
Works really well and pretty much evaporates itself off the parts after cleaning and cheaper than the branded stuff which is a bit weedy.
