Unused tools?

Seems a common theme on here... Buy tools.. they fill a space but not get used... What have you got waiting?

I will start with this, very nice smooth rotary table. I assume it was home made before I got it from ebay a couple years ago.

I need to make up a mount to use it on the lathe. Would be much simpler with a proper mill!

Also a rotary table for me - a massive horizontal one that must weigh upwards of 50KG

Some spot weld drills- bought with the intention of refurbishing my Range Rover Classic before I realised I would never have enough round tuits- and the car was sold for what seemed like pennies

I have 2 rotary tables given to me not used either in anger yet but the small one will go on the bridgeport the other massive one i want to make into a welding rotator and this week given some stepper motors so another project joins the list

1 of my XYZ 3000 mills - because it has lost parameters and wont run yet.

Most of the above need some fettling to get working but never had the chance. Except for the Elliotts which should be fine.

Actually a long enough list for me .
Both never used and used very little...
Let's start simple with power tools I've actually never used yet .
Grinders
9" Milwaukee , put it together from 3 grinders parts got for free.
Fein 5" 1700W ,got for cheap as spare parts it's waiting in pieces into a box waiting for receive new crown and pinion gears and ball bearings.
5" Würth 1050W put together from 2 grinders ,I got for spares to repair the one I've actually ended up using to repair it since the other one didn't have variable speed but only kickback stop ,this one has both.
Makita SDS plus 1.7J hammer got for free disassembled, I've put it back together put a new set of brushes in it .
Rurmec concrete saw (don't know how to call it ,the thing you use for cutting walls and rout pipes for installations) never got it running ,it needs brushes,brush orders , and covers .
Didn't get rid of it because is such of expensive tool
Bosch jigsaw ,got for free repaired but I actually didn't need it yet.
Parkside belt sander , bought the other day waiting for being used.
A bunch of sledge hammers waiting for new handles and restoration.
Makita SDS max rotary hammer testing in pieces into a box waiting for a new armature and brushes.
Brand new Metabo drill , didn't need it yet.
Fein DSK 672 morse taper 3 handheld drill, bought for a price I couldn't ever reject , actually waiting for me either build or get a magnetic base or a line boring carriage for it .
Fein asge power tapping drill got for cheap not a long time ago, waiting for restoration and a new chuck
Fein ASz 648 got for cheap waiting for restoration
Fein ask 636 got for cheap waiting for restoration and another chuck
Bosch constant torque drill , pristine condition,got for free, repaired the switch never used , resting into a box.
Bosch die grinder , again got for cheap it really needs just a clean up and a new power cord , never used .
CEA buzz box waiting for restoration and modifications which should not have to wait too much yet.
Fro straight cutting and gouging torch , never used because it's an acetylene only torch.
Pramac generator, waiting for restoration
High output Einhell air compressor , waiting for repairs and a new tank.

Now the one I've used very little
Metabo WE24-230MVT got for 50 euros as parts , pristine conditions, replaced the plug , put a new guard ,used for few cuts .
Harris oxy propane cutting torch ,got the deal , always wanted this particular brand and model , actually tested at work after replacing the injector for swapping fuel from acetylene to propane, used for a week at work then took home and never used since
Waiting for me to finish buying the stuff to get it set up .
Hilti 5" grinder , used a lot on the job site , waiting for repairs
Hitachi 1200W 4.5 inches, used a lot waiting for new bearings since months,I've actually collected another grinder for spares to keep it running
Bosch SDS max rotary hammer , waiting for a new connecting rod and piston
Milwaukee heavy duty drill/mixer, used a lot in the job site, waiting on the shelf since last time I've repaired.
Bosch heavy duty drill ,as same as the Milwaukee up above
Hitachi D13 drill/mixer , collecting dust since when I got it back from a guy who borrowed it for 1+ year
Mag drill taking space used very little , its only real job in years has been drilling 12 holes on H beams at work.
This one is hard to admit
GenSet engine driven welder , restored used for few jobs , useful when needed but the good 90% of its life is collecting dust.
Deca plasma cutter got when it was sold at a discount price, used once got disappointed with its capabilities put back into it's box and onto the shelf ever since.

Now I might think to sell something to gain space

I can add a wood lathe! Always fancied one - finally got one for a bargain off FBMP, with all the chisels and stuff, and realised I have nowhere sensible to put it, as it creates A LOT of mess!

I've had this old pillar drill for four years now and have only just moved it to work on.

I'll do a new thread for this one.

I found an almost new unused Dremel drill in a case yesterday that I forgot I had, I've been using an old knackered unbranded one instead
I'm sure theres plenty more I'll find now I'm having a bit of a clear out...

The pile of unused tools grow as workshops and projects evolve, recently had a declutter/reorganise in the mancave. It certainly needs doing more than once in every thirty years.

Smaller stuff doesn't bother me and I generally stick it on gumtree and shift it eventually.

I do have a large Honda petrol interpump power hose which I haven't started for near 10 years.

I plan on draining the fuel tank and changing the oil etc then selling soon as I use my electric Kranzle washer outside my house now.

I have an air fed mask, didn't read the info properly to find that it is for welding etc and not for painting. It has sat on my shelf for a couple of years now!

A 2 post ramp. Originally I was going to have it set up along side my 4 post, but I dont see the point now. I have stuff I've had for 10+ years and never used, but I'm of late dragging it out of storage and getting it going (and it feels good). Just because I haven't used a certain tool for a few years, doesnt mean that its surplus, it just means I haven't done X that its invauable for. Some tools take years to get all the pieces in place properly to support them too.

Plus I hate dealing with the general public and selling stuff. I don't want a load of arthur daly types turning up and trying to talk the price down even though I wrote the price was firm in the ad's in the past, they still tried it on. I priced stuff to get rid of it and yet people still think its some game and they're so clever and gifted they're going to outwit the sellers. And the people who's eyes are everywhere asking if you want to get rid of x y or z. That ramp will probably sit on a pallet with a tarp over it round the back until a friend mentions they want one & I'm trying to get son interested in selling a spare 3d resin printer from his uni digs for a % so I dont have to be involved.

i think im pritty good i have a clear out of most stuff that not used for a while im sure theres a few small tools in drawers that ive missed

i do have a large husky in the garage that needs a new head and seals but ive not found time or enery to do it yet but there not in a rush for it and is an as an when project

im doing a rare sitting down day to day of coughting and running nose etc feeling sorry formyself and not looking forward to work next week with it
