I have an area of the garden that I wanted to plant in, but being located underneath a tree it is difficult to grow plants there.
I dug down to some of the large roots with spade & pick, then sawed through the root. I then drilled a hole through the side of the large root to thread my rope. One steady click at a time, and the chain lift worked quite well. Most of the root was much lower down in the soil than where I had dug down to.
I’m sure I’m not the only one that has used this sort of equipment for something unconventional.
