Using Vertical Blinds as Room Dividers

We have a lounge which is about 22' long and 12' wide. I'd like to divide off about one third of it in a temporary and low-cost way and the only way I can think of at the moment is to use vertical blinds. I think they'd be just about OK; easily retracted back when required. Tollerable to look at when closed.

Just wondered in any one else as been down this route using vertical blinds or anything else?

I think I have a problem with curtains - tend to associate with them with my granny and her generation, though she is long gone and I am now about the age that I recall her

Merely a suggestion. You don't have to go that route.

We had the folding version of these in my (small village) primary school. Made one big hall into 3 classrooms.

If it was a permanent addition I’d go this road but if it’s temporary then curtains I suppose.

I bought 4 sliding doors off a guy who had a similar setup as OP. I wanted them as individual doors but they were dual tracks - ie 2 doors each side.

Looked good actually. I took them out but I think he made a mistake getting rid.

Check online prices for blinds/curtains (and pole/runner etc)
I think that width and "drop" would be darned expensive.

Might be easier & cheaper to make a partition from three 8x4 hardboard sheets? maybe hung from a ceiling beam.
Our ceiling is 7ft 8" high so with 4" trimmed off it would fit nicely, maybe with some roofing laths attached vertically for support against bending.

And they'd be re-useable for other stuff afterwards.

I have a problem with vertical blinds that make the house look like a typing pool! There are some fabulously attractive curtains around which will be cheaper, warmer and look far nicer, especially when stowed.

triple e do curtain tracks that would suit , its the standard in theaters.
