Hello.

Is there any particular reason not to buy the following:

Stanair Professional 14 CFM 50 Litre V Twin Compressor

Just bought a project car that needs a little renovation, so it'll be needed for associated tooling, and maybe inflating the girlfriend at weekends.

There are a couple, it will be noisy and the receiver (tank) is on the small side. I also doubt it's 14 cfm FAD, that is free air delivered. See the sticky on compressors.

The noise I can hopefully live with, as I said it'll be 'hobby' use so don't expect to be using it all day every day. Also it'll be nice to have something louder than the two kids in the house.
Space is also an issue so don't really want to go bigger than 50l.
I understand the stated 14cfm is probably on the generous side, but for the money is there a better option, or is it impossible to get a usable product in this kind of price range?

It's quoted as 14 CFM displacement so the actual air delivered will be less, about 8 or 9 CFM. There are many threads in this compressor section of the forum on this subject, you will find it useful to read through them, also the Compressor FAQ sticky in this section.

Just as an update, decided to take the plunge.

As expected it's a noisy ****** but has coped well with everything i've used it for so far.
