This years present for our lass, cut out of 6mm mild steel with the plasma cutter.

Yes, its something i've been wanting to try for a while. I wish I had a steadier hand though I think I might have to look into making a cnc plasma cutter.

I think it would be too 'sterile' if CNC'd, the beauty in this piece is that it is handcrafted and unique, well at least to me.

When I made this I didn't really have the end product in mind I was just testing out the idea, then while I was sitting staring at my scrap pile I noticed the top off an old co2 pub bottle and I had a brainwave. I went to our local tip shop and bought an old lamp for a couple of quid, turned a collar out of a piece of thick walled tube and made this. It could do with a smaller less powerful bulb but otherwise i'm really happy with it

yep, looks good,simple but very effective.
Would also make a great wall art piece.

She loves it ta, I don't get the subdued lighting by lamps business my eyes are bad enough without having to squint in the gloom but hey if she's happy I can spend more time in the shed

nice job, I have been playing with making a wall lamp lit by a LED along similar lines to your idea.
