Bit of random title but it’s exactly what I’ve made today. I’ve just come back from a couple weeks away on an adventure. During this time I realised how annoying it is having a folding Ali ramp on the floor of my van.
Anyway, I made this mount today.
Started out by folding some 30mm x 8mm bar to make the retaining piece.
I cut some 50mm x 8mm bar for the backing piece, used four m8 rivnuts and mounted that.
similar thing for the top. Just two holes on this one, cut the hook part off the end of the ratchet then welded the left over onto the bar. The other side I had a large screw ring spare so I cut the thread off and welded that on.
All mounted, it’s come out well. Saved a lot of room and no noise from it which is nice
