I have some electrical issues, likely corroded Canbus connectors on my 2003 Mercedes S600. The ESP / BAS module is offline and I've already tried swapping it with a good spare I have. Anyway I spotted what looks to be a good powerprobe type tool on amazon for £109.
Or from Aliexpress and the same brand / product from Vdiagtool official store for half price! Will have it on 24th Dec
That you tube video shows the features pretty well.
The circuit signal tester to trace wires will be very useful for me. For example once I've checked there are good positive and ground supplies to the module plug I'll be able to clip onto the canbus wire and use the signal detector to trace where that leads to in the car as there are conflicting diagrams on where the canbus connector may be as this car has 6 or 8 of them.
The only thing I need to sort out now is a decent back probe / cable test kit. Any recommendations in that regard please?
In any case for anyone interested in this type of tester I will provide feedback on here when I receive it and get to use it over the Christmas break
I believe this one would be similar to a powerprobe 3, but significantly cheaper and includes a signal tester also. So was more tempting to me and all reviews I have read and seen for this are very positive.
