Vehicle cavity injection

Just bought a Kennedy compressed air wax injection gun with a spray nozzle and an extension pipe for going in cavities, It useless with the injection pipe connected but it does works with just the nozzle. I have heated the wax to 65 degrees so it's runny and diluted it with white spirit but it still won't work.
It works with a Venturi effect and it's blowing air down the pickup into the tank as well as out of the pipe so the spray is useless.
I also tried the wax using a Shultz gun with its own extension with the same results.
I am running it at 120psi as recommended in the info and have also tried it at 90psi. I have lots of capacity with the compressor so this is not the problem. How do other people manage?

Yep,same here,drove me nuts,see the nozzle end,i took that out and put one of the brass ones in,then it worked,not only that i had to up the psi to 140.
What i couldn't work out is the tube within the tube,if you tightened it up at the bottle end nothing,if you turned it out a few threads it worked
Make sure the little breather hole is clear,thats on top of the bottle cap itself.
Not happy with it,but for £15 and a few swears words it'll do

got mine with the Waxoyl.....hopeless.......in the end took the doors of again and used a shutz gun....
i'd just put new door skins on, no effort just a fag....
Bit like the fancy stainless coffee perk/pot from Sainsbury's......pee's all over the work top when pouring.....
Wish I could take it back.....

thats about the only one worth having , all the garages ive worked at used it too , can be got a bit cheaper if you search around , metal pot too so you can warm it

yeah these pressurise the pot rather than relying on suction (venturi) to make the spray mist.

That is the exact one! I saw it on Cromwells site for just over £32 so thought I had got a good deal getting it from Zoro for £21 but its useless. The breather hole is clear as the wax often come out there into your face I will try slackening off the tube nut and see if that helps.

I had seen those metal pot guns but thought they worked on the same principal as the one I have.

Dosent spray at all, acts more like an air blade amd removes more coating than it applies as it dosent pick up liquid from the resevoir properly even when operated at the exact specified pressure. Tried with neat lanolin oil, (runny liquid) and heated waxoyl (very runny liquid), nether will spray properly out the side if the 360 nozel, and the other nozel just sprays out air, dont wasye money on this product, a garden sprayer will honestly do a better job.

The Bilt Hamber Dynax s-50 is what you need. It coated the inside of my chassis perfectly on my disco.

sealey sg18 is the one people recommend (not that i have one) - which looks to be the same castings as the unbranded one linked to earlier.

the sealey sg18 come up frequently, new, for 79.95 or somthing, but never any cheaper (according to my ebay saved searches!)

they are not the same as the venturi paraffin guns you get in the cheap air tools bundles

sealey is same one in a sealey box, same as alot of what they sell

Thanks for all the help, glad it's not just me with the gun.

Just bought of the metal pressure gun of FB market place (used like new) for £28.50 delivered.
I think there is a bit of price fixing going on with these guns in the UK they are all £75.99 or more but I found a Polish site selling the same exact gun for £40.04 inc tax and postage (I think) If I could read Polish better I would have bought it but while I was translating the pages my wife found the FB one.

I use the cheap washer gun to shoot underseal/stonechip its excellent and you can adjust the spray pattern a little
The brass nozzle i was on about

Exatcly what i have and use a lot , Great bit of kit that. I got mine in a kit with some different hoses right angles and use some of the dintrol wax which is also very well regarded and seems quality stuff.

It ain't Waxoil I am using but it is just another similar brand of cavity wax.
What really ticks me off is the gun's description they are selling it for spraying wax underseal, I even heated the wax to 65 degrees and diluted it with white spirit but it still wouldn't spray it. I would send the gun back but it's covered in wax,the box has been thrown away and I have wasted enough time on it already.
It just doesn't do what it says and I have spent ages mucking about trying to make it work.

Pneumatic tool for spraying and injecting wax underseal into areas that are difficult to access, such as door cavities, inside box section chassis and around wheel arches. Has a 1 litre container with a ¼” NPT connection, operates from 90 - 145psi (6 - 10bar) air pressure with an air consumption rate of 380ltr/min and a vacuum of (maximum) 550mm HG. Supplied with 900mm spray hose and hanging hook.

The cheap things do work - but in a very narrow window of viscosity, temperature, angle of dangle, pressure, humidity, day of the week - whereas the pressure pot ones just work. Just make sure you have it adjusted so the air comes on then the liquid - you can pull the trigger enough to get air, but not the liquid - which is probably what the crap reviewer did.

Be careful if you take it apart to clean (or indeed if the previous owner has) - I lent mine out, it came back clean - with a missing seal and a missing spring - so while it worked, it wouldn't shut off!

Well worth the 80 quid for the lack of hassle, ease of use, especially if you will use it on multiple cars. Used mine to spray waxoyle on my Pug 106 (still rust free), dinitrol in my Lancia (rusted), Noxudol 700 in the rebuilt Lancia (not rusted again yet), in my new Dodge (not exactly over-treated from new in the USA) and Bilt Hamber and Rust-busters underbody wax with the L-shaped spray handle thingie.

The venturi principle works well with cheapo shultz guns and various brands of underseal on a hot day, or if the can is dunked in hot water and given a good stir.

Have you tried it with plain water as this will tell you if it works or not.

If I hold my finger over the pick up tube I can feel suction when the trigger is pressed but as soon as the pickup is below the wax level it just spits out the odd bit of wax occasionally from the spray extension, a small amount of the compressed air is going down the pickup and into the pot.
I have read that you may need to warm the wax and dilute it which I have done with no luck.
It does spray pure white spirit though as I found out when I gave up on it and cleaned it out in disgust
Hopefully the Sealey pressure gun I have coming will work better.

Thanks for the pointers I will bear that in mind, hopefully it hasn't been messed with. I have done all our cars over many years using a Wagner electric gun with a cavity wand and although the wax needed heating it worked pretty well until the brass nozzle fell off the end in the sill! It could not be on too tight or it wouldn't spray, I did managed to eventually recovered it several times over the years.

@hunter27 i'm telling you,its that bloody nozzle,its useless,see if you can make one from a brake bleed nipple,i tried that first but didnt fit in the tube well. I then found what i've shown and thats working,well,so far.
But you're dead right,i believed the BS ad and got just annoyed
