So yesterday morning, Mrs FranV8 says she needs a 3.5" pastry cutter. Could've gone to Tesco, a 5 minute walk away, but I said - that's okay, I'll know one up. Fabbed from scrap (and crumpled) piece of 1mm aluminium sheet:

Welding, wasn't as easy as I'd hoped (and filed the one joining the ring down out of embarassment) but it's doing the job. Edges peened over just using normal hammer and edge of the bench.
