Vevor Machine skates

I have been keeping a lookout for a cheap set of machine skates, I was lent a set by the previous owner of my Harrison lathe. So in preparation for a mill purchase thought they would be a good idea to watch out for a set.

I made the mistake of reading @pressbrake1 s Vevor tapping arm review and then had a quick look on their web site.

Hope not a waste of money, they are the cheapest I have seen:

They were heavily discounted and added the promotional code WELCOMEALL for another £5 off. I live in the Highlands, so postage is normally extortionate, delivery all included in the above price. Seems a good buy, I am looking at machines under 1.5 T, so even a Chinese rating should be adequate. Will post what they are like when they arrive.

I have ten of those skates
I certainly wouldn’t try their claimed weight as the wheels are injection moulded plastic not a proper engineering polymer but for normal machines under five ton they’re fine

I don't want to speak too soon as normally companies suss out that their delivery partners are charging them a fortune for some parcels and then they simply stop delivering to our postcodes but I too can confirm that Vevor have been pretty good at delivering heavy stuff to me including an air jack and an X Y table with no delivery premiums. Pleasant surprise! Long may it continue.

Mine have proved to be really good, dragged all my machines over rough concrete, through a gully then up a ramp over a Ali weather strip.

I bought two of them. I use the on the devlieg for setting heavy castings

I have a pair of roller machine skates very similar to this image, They will carry a fair old weight, not been used for a long time, Will dig them out and post photograph, somebody may recognise them,

I believe they were "rescued' from a closing riggers loft, I have only used them once in 30 years,

I’ve got wealthy neighbours with flash cars and I won’t spend more than £500 . I think they assume I’m a gardener or burglar...
If I sold my empire of iron I could join them with a silly flash car and two weeks a year in the sun but as boring as I find metal work I wouldn’t swap places!

I already have 1, it came via my BIL and very useful it is too

My old British toe jack will lift 5 tons and cost me about £30 - bargain!
Got some lovely heavy pipe slightly larger than scaffolding tube out of a skip.
Pallet truck the best for moving machines though. Most are rated at 2.5 tons.

Emails from Vevor today that 3 packages have been posted by Australia Post!

I entered the tracking number and it cannot track, so put the tracking number into Royal Mail and all good!

They work well on steel decks, till you hit a weld, have seen them used many times when there isnt space to rig or use a crane.

I tried it for 10minutes, scary scary tippy tippy
