That's a good question. It would move fairly easily if I tried to bend a steel bar in it, or crank down on the handle with a long cheater bar. Fortunately, it won't with any work I foresee in my little home shop. If it ever becomes an issue, the obvious answer is to weld 3 or 4 tabs to the base and bolt them to the floor. The stand weighs about 160 lbs. The vise 185.Nice. Did you fill the rim with weight or is it heavy enough to hold itself still?
nice as long as you make a bracket to fit to the wall otherwise it will be all over the place using a hacksaw its bad enough on a bench if it isnt fastened to the wall or screwed to the ground
Do people still use hacksaws?
Yes, regularly
We use hacksaws and millimeters over here
Personally I use 7.09 teeth per mm.What tooth pitch blade do you use in the hacksaw?
---
To the OP: it might be worth blocking the holes in the rim as they will attract every small object from above and you will have to lean it over to retrieve them.
Depends what I am cutting 24 teeth per inch general some times less if its the 4x4 and something needs off quickWhat tooth pitch blade do you use in the hacksaw?

Was trying to mentally convert 18tpi, but you probably guessed that.

The problem is, I'm 46. That means I sort of get imperial. It was sort of still taught in school, just. So I tend to work in a weird mix of metric and imperial without being 100%.We would honestly never have guessed that you were trying to do a conversion, & are a bit **** at maths.
Although be fair, it was more the letter typing that let me down than the maths as such.We would honestly never have guessed that you were trying to do a conversion, & are a bit **** at maths, if you hadn't mentioned it.
