Wall Chaser Tool ?

What design features to look for, and what would be a decent tool to buy ?

are u talking double wheel diamond chaser or a cranked gouging chissel in a sds hammer drill . i use both theres cheapo or quality depending on your use

Of there's a third type a toothed wheel for gouging chases in thermalite.

First thing to check is how deep they will cut because if you're using the bigger conduit it won't go below flush if your chaser uses a smaller pair of discs. Personally I would use a grinder and blade and cut both sides then chisel out, unless you have a stack of it to do.

I bought a cheap one from Screwfix, used it to sink 22mm pipes into a concrete floor

After I returned the 3rd one they didn't have any left...

mines a metabo twin chaser was over 200 quid. the gouging chisels are armeg and about 40 quid just for the chisel then over 150 for the sds hammer drill

See what brand the hire shops carry and copy them. Dust extraction will be a high priority.

One of these will turn a standard grinder into a single wheel chaser and as Pete. says run it down the wall twice:

I do not know if the other manufacturers offer similar. Ali probably offers a universal one.

Presently I have eight, and there will possibly be a few more locations I'll need to recess internal breezeblock walls for radiator pipe and electrical wiring. I have used a disc cutter before and chiselled a channel out with a chipping hammer drill, but it was time consuming, and I wasn't really happy with how cruddy the job turned out; even though it was covered over. I would like to channel to at least a depth of 35mm, which is an inch and a half deep. Although I've been known to improvise all my life to get a job done, I also like to have the right tool's to do a job.

Surprisingly good even though the first one looks like it came from Toys R Us. With a bfo dust extractor I was able to achieve near dustless chasing.

Yeah, think there will be quite a few to do. This is in our project house, a smaller bespoke version of a "grand design", which will be the home we intend to spend the rest of our retirement years in.
