WARCO Pillar Drill

Doe's anyone know anything about WARCO pillar drills ?
A few years ago I aquired a WARCO 5/8 No2 MT 12 speed bench mounted unit.
It is still giving sterling service but just wondered if anybody new anything about them.

They are derived from a generic Chinese casting and come in many guises ..very usefull machine and if maintained can last many years...make sure your MT2 tooling is in good condition as the inside of the quill is not hardened very well if at all and can soon start getting larger

I have a no 2 morse taper reamer to clean the lathe tailstocks out out with it once in a bluemoon if a drill turns and marks them

I never use a taper in my drills with out a tang for this reason...having said that my Harrison's 11" Tailstock (MT3) is not holding as good as it should so maybe i need reaming cant believe i just typed that

I am keeping my eyes open for either an old Meddings or Fobco
But unless the right one pops up I will continue with the WARCO

I have a warco. I can not fault it. I'm told that the bearings are suitable for milling also, bit I've never used it for anything other than drilling.

I have other tools where I keep an eye out for better models of the same tool, but I never bother looking at drill presses as the warco I have seems fine.

I have one which I bought new a few years ago. Can’t fault it, and I recall their customer service / comms around delivery was pretty good.

I don’t exactly do precision metalwork, but for putting holes in wood and metal it does everything I need from a pillar drill.
