Water in air

Hi I am looking for advice to reduce the water I have in my air supply. I have already reduced it by adding copper cooling circuit similar to shown on this website, but still have water coming out of air tools. I plan to use the compressor for spraying my car soon and want to ensure I have dry air before I do this.
For reference I have a 100ltr 3hp belt driven compressor from sgs with a cooling coil in the system and water separator/filter (cheap screwfix one).
Any suggestions/ advice will be much appreciated.

yea a secondary tank on the end of the line with a water separator on the outlet 3or 4 meters away from your spray gun or air tools; I do blasting with the setup and use a lot of air and have no problem with water

Bigger tank helps - or a "DropOut" fitler. Or a refrigerent dryer....

I decided on a 200ltr tank and a DropOut fitler.

get a diesel screw comp. after 5 mins running the air is dry and warm

I too have a dropout filter, the 1/2" version, fitted some distance from my hydrovane (which is under the house) after the 22mm nylon pipe has crossed under the patio to the garage 5m away - never had water out of any tools or blow guns.

I like these drop out fitlers - they do work.

But you can't get any info on how many hours they will do?

Flow rates yes... Hours no...

They have a membrane in them like a goretex jacket I think? (not sure on this fact thou).

Not had a problem with mine under workshop conditions thou.

Thanks for the responses, the dropout solution looks ideal fir my application and cost is reasonable as well.

If you're looking to paint you want to get a dedicated air hose for painting, and a 2 stage filter to also remove the oil and last few drops of water from the line. Preferably you want an air fed mask and a 3 stage breathing filter. Check your humidity on the day and painting with a cold compressor may keep the water away long enough to get the job done.
Also do a search on isocyanates, I dont want to derail the thread but do yourself a favour and research them if you are going to be using that sort of paint

I seem to recall it was a cyclone separator - no ongoing costs - fit and use.
