Water trap question.

Just setting up sand blasting compressor and fitting combined reg/water trap.
Due to where the compressor is sited I can't wall mount the reg. It's easy enough to make a bracket up to fix on comp but does it need to be rubber mounted to isolate it from vibration ?
Also, what height (if there is one) does trap need to be above comp tank ?

All the ones I've seen are fixed solidly to the tank.

Generally speaking pipework is arranged so that there is a downward slope away from the compressor so moisture gets swept along with the air, so the filter needs to be as low as possible. That said, the distances involved won't really make any difference, so just mount it where convenient..

if you have one on your comp tank and blasting using leads to the gear best have another right next to the pot or gun as well
