hey there,
Been welding for 3 years now but previously had office jobs for about 12 years. I've always had an interest but now that I'm in the game I eat, sleep and breath the stuff. I'm one of the only people I know that loves Monday's (there are exceptions).
My work is not solely about welding, there is a lot of engineering, electrical, hydraulic and inspection work but it's all about the metal.
I'm 37 and have less experience than the time served guys, yet have more knowledge. I have no qualifications but have more drive than those who have completed several years of education. It's an awkward situation that seems to call for night school of some form but my first child is due today (no sign yet) and that's not an option.
My work have been searching for some day release courses but there is a very limited number in Scotland. I'm hoping I can get some idea of other ways to gain certificates for all of the knowledge that is rattling about in my dome!
