Welding cart and lathe table

Well after scratching around with allsorts of lash up's though it best to make some better bits of kit really, all 50mm x 50mm box and bits found at work when I had a few spare minutes here and there. It had a couple of coats Jotun 87 epoxy then a couple of 2k satin blue.

Still need to pop the lathe on the table but needs a new motor mounting and countershaft making first..

Nice one, I've been measuring up the past week to build exactly the same two items!

Lovely work. I wished I had sprayed the benches I made immediately after making them. I have about 10 gallon of black hammerite to use up but I think I may consign it to other jobs as its crap to apply by brush and I don't rate it for spraying.

I'd like to know what they've done to Hammerite over the years, the smooth black used to go on like stove enamel from a Humbrol sprayer and give a really high gloss. Best finish I have managed in recent years is silver and black mixed to get grey for a bike engine but the silver would only come out satin. Once I've used all my stock up I won't buy any more.

Like with most things these days, most of the solvents that made the paint good have been changed to make the product more environmentally friendly but at the same time also quite rubbish, look at nitro mores for example, no more DCM and guess what it don't work so well any more!
